Well hello there!
My name is Amber and I am the owner and creative force behind Fleetwood & Co. Where I create mostly one of a kind jewelry and accessories, using almost completely upcycled and repurposed vintage jewelry components and found objects. Like I said most of my jewelry and accessories are exclusively one of a kind, or have been made in very limited quantities. Due in part to the nature of the vintage components that I use and their rarity. And to the fact that I am always finding inspiration for new designs. I get so excited I just can't wait to move on to the next project. So there is no guarantee that I would be able to recreate an item exactly.
I have been crafting as far back a I can remember. My mom was into drawing and sculpting. Now she's all about scrapbooking, something I just can't seem to get the hang of. Aside from not being able to scrapbook, knit or needle felt (that was a disaster.) The things I can do are: crochet, make jewelry (obviously), draw, paint, and I am currently teaching myself to sew and I love it!
I really took to making jewelry though so I really ran with it. Until one day I realized I had more jewelry just laying around then I could ever wear or gift away. Then I happened to stumble upon Etsy quite a few years back now. I became a buyer at first then one day I decided to "take the leap" and see if anyone else in the world loved my designs as much as I do.
And it turns out they do! I am so grateful for everyone that loved one of my pieces enough to make it their own. I am still so excited about it to this day every time I get a sale. Not for the financial end of it. But for the fact that something I hand crafted and put my heart into is going out into the world, probably to some place I'll never see and being worn by someone who adores it. It is a very rewarding feeling!
My inspirations come from vintage jewelry from the 40's through the 70's, new girly and trendy, some hipster influences, I love an earthy bohemian design, woodland nature, retro kitch, minimalist and even nautical. That is just to name a few.
I truly love what I do and I hope that my love for my work shows in the things I create!
Thank you for you interest in my little shop come back again soon
Cheers,
Amber
